The government has prioritised the development of dry ports in strategic locations across the region, securing land in key ports such as Walvis Bay in Namibia, Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania, and Lobito in Angola. Minister Tayali noted that DP World’s extensive experience in port management and logistics presents an opportunity for collaboration to optimise Zambia’s access to these facilities.

Mr Albana affirmed DP World’s commitment to supporting Zambia in improving logistics efficiency and cost-effectiveness. He highlighted that DP World does not impose its operations but rather works collaboratively with partner countries to enhance their logistics sectors.

DP World’s Chief Executive Officer for Sub-Saharan Africa, Mr Mohamed Akoojee, outlined the company’s vision for growth, particularly in fleet tracking, with Zambia positioned as a key hub for monitoring logistics across the region.

Following the meeting, Mr. Albana also paid a courtesy visit to Zambia’s Minister of Finance and National Planning, Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane. He reiterated DP World’s interest in strengthening Zambia’s logistics capacity, while Dr Musokotwane underscored the importance of enhanced logistics infrastructure to support increased investment in the mining and agriculture sectors.
