The first 100% electric, battery-powered locomotive is ready. The result of a partnership between Vale and Progress Rail, the locomotive is on route from the factory where it will run in the yard of the Vitória a Minas Railway, in Tubarão Unit, which belongs to the mining company. The locomotive needs to pass a variety of tests before it is ready for commercial operations. It is part of the PowerShift program, created by the company, which aims to replace its energy matrix with clean sources. I
