Construction has begun on a 19.7km metro rail system with 14 stations from Ben Thanh Market in downtown Ho Chi Minh City to Suoi Tien in District 9. A 2.6km underground section is included. A long-term loan of $US905 from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation is to finance part of the $US1.1
