Transport Evolution East Africa: Inaugural Event to Drive Regional Economic Growth and Connectivity

  • Organized by dmg events, Transport Evolution East Africa to launch in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 9-11 September 2025, driving transport infrastructure and logistics development.
  • Tanzania’s strategic location and investment in infrastructure position it as the gateway to Eastern and Central Africa.
  • The event will showcase innovative products and services for the transport infrastructure and logistics sector, alongside a two-day conference addressing key regional issues.

East Africa is witnessing unprecedented growth in its transport and logistics sector, with Tanzania leading the way through significant infrastructure investments. One notable example is Tanzania’s $1.9 billion railway project, part of a broader 1,219-kilometer network, which is set to transform the region into a critical trade hub connecting landlocked nations to global markets.

To support and accelerate this transformation, dmg Events is proud to announce the launch of Transport Evolution East Africa, a new addition to the successful Transport Evolution series of events that take place regionally in Southern and West Africa. Scheduled from 9 to 11 September 2025 in Tanzania, this event is poised to become the leading platform for advancing transport infrastructure and logistics in the region. The event organisers are proud to announce that the event will be run in partnership with the Transporters Association of Tanzania (TAT), who have secured the endorsement of the Ministry of Transport of the United Republic of Tanzania for this inaugural event.

“We are excited to extend our Transport Evolution brand to East Africa, a region with immense potential and strategic importance. This event will bring together key stakeholders to collaborate, innovate, and drive the future of transportation in East Africa,” says Joshua Low, Vice President of dmg Events South Africa.

“This exhibition and conference aim to introduce Tanzania and the region to the changing transport infrastructure and logistics sector, with a focus on developments in Central and Eastern Africa. It will also aim to position Tanzania as the gateway to East Africa” Adds Mr Sallu Johnson, Programme Director for TAT.

Commenting on opportunities within the East Africa transport market, Stan Whitting, Director at Moore Global, a Strategic Knowledge Partner for the event, said: “Moore has recently played an advisory role to a number of large multi-national logistics companies that have made substantial investments into port, road and rail projects in the region. The export of critical minerals and subsequent import of goods and services to support the region’s growth means that East Africa’s logistics sector is ripe for transformation, and private sector investment is the catalyst. The logistics PPP (Public Private Partnerships) collaborations taking place in the region act as a showcase on how to build a seamless, efficient and prosperous logistics ecosystem that fuels Africa’s economic ascendance.”

Transport Evolution East Africa seeks to leverage recent developments by creating a platform for professionals from across the region to collaborate and share knowledge, while attracting government officials, investors, transport authorities, logistics providers, suppliers and service providers for unique investment and partnership opportunities that drive sectoral growth.

Attendees can look forward to an exhibition featuring the latest products and solutions tailored to the region’s specific challenges. Additionally, the event will include a 2-day conference featuring some of the burning topics in the region such as ‘sustainable transport solutions’, ‘regional integration and trade facilitation’ and ‘innovation and technology in logistics’.

The launch of Transport Evolution East Africa in Tanzania is a strategic expansion of dmg events’ portfolio in East Africa, complementing existing events in Kenya, Ethiopia and Namibia, across key sectors such as construction, energy and infrastructure.
