Construction has begun on a 677km through rail line to link the landlocked Central Asian states of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan with Iran and the Persian Gulf. It will run from Uzen in Kazakhstan through Gyzylgaya-Bereket-Etrek in Turkmenistan to the city of Gorgan in Iran's Golestan province. About
