On 11 October, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh flagged off the first train in the Kashmir valley from the Srinagar station at Nowgam. Initial services, using an 8-car DEMU, will run twice daily from Rajwansher in the Budgam district to Anantnag (66 km) in about an hour at a fare of 15 rupees. Stops
